Domitek named Small Business of the Year!

We are pleased to announce that Domitek, Inc., was selected by the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce as its 2014 Small Business of the Year. The Small Business of the Year Award is presented to a small and growing for-profit business in Greater Worcester area that demonstrates achievement in management and innovation, workplace excellence, or a commitment to community. The award ceremony was held at the Haven Club in Boylston, on May 15, 2014, where Libis Bueno, CEO & CTO of Domitek, accepted the award from the Worcester Chamber of Commerce.

Chairwomen, Susan Mailman said the following about Domitek winning this award; “Domitek stood out for this award for many reasons: The success of their growth strategy in recent years as well as their commitment to stay in Worcester where among them; But what really made Domitek stand-out was their commitment to young people, developing students’ talents, and retaining these young professionals after graduation from local institutions. By hiring locally, Domitek recognizes that it has access to a talented pool of young people who will help their company to succeed—and will bring a diverse perspective to the organization.

Domitek’s commitment to young people is also demonstrated by its annual contest for 7^th and 8^th grade students in Worcester public schools, which challenges them to write an essay about three areas of service Domitek provides. The winners are awarded a new laptop to encourage them to find the entrepreneur in themselves! Domitek has worked with many institutions including, Quinsigamond Community College, Salter College, Worcester State University, Worcester Technical High School, and Youth Works to name a few.
