On September 27, 2013, Governor Deval Patrick signed legislation repealing the sales and use taxes on computer software services retroactively to July 31, 2013.
IT companies across the state rallied together, in an successful effort to remove this new tax. Arguments against it included a concern that it would cause MA IT companies to relocate to other states, and that the language used in the bill was confusing and unclear.
Domitek is happy that our clients are relieved from the proposed 6.25% tax, and that our state’s government listened, when local professionals spoke out.
